Helen was seconded to the role of e-sgol co-ordinator on a part-time basis in September 2020 before being appointed full time in April 2022. Before joining e-sgol, Helen supported schools as a challenge adviser in GwE as well as working for Estyn. Within her e-sgol role, Helen supports the team in coordinating the project in schools across North Wales ensuring that schools, teachers and pupils have received adequate training and guidance to ensure the smooth running and success of the e-sgol project.
Helen has worked in education since 1996, as a secondary science teacher, head of science, sixth form tutor and a science adviser before working as a challenge adviser in GwE. Helen’s role within GwE includes challenging and supporting schools to develop all aspects of school leadership as well as developing curriculum reform. Helen also works with Estyn in the secondary sector as a peer inspector.
Outside of work, Helen is a keen runner and cyclist and has completed many half marathons in the North Wales area as well as triathlons such as the Llanberis Slateman and Chirk triathlon.
