e-sgol Conference 2025: Link and Learn

The e-sgol Conference brings teachers and education practitioners together, linking the diversity that e-sgol and partners have to offer as well as learning from educational Speakers.

During the day, you will hear about the different initiatives that e-sgol deliver, including e-sgol in the Primary sector, Carlam Cymru and the pedagogy behind delivering a hybrid learning course. Speakers and teachers from across these areas will share their experiences and knowledge of working with e-sgol. In addition, there will be an opportunity to chat and visit a number of stands from various organisations between speakers.

Keynote Speaker


Dr Cynog Prys: Welsh Education in the Digital Age
 
Dr Cynog Prys is a Senior Lecturer at Bangor University, where he specialises in the fields of sociology, social policy and language planning. 
 
His main area of ​​academic research is the study of the use of the Welsh language in everyday life. His work focuses on how the public uses the Welsh language in a variety of domains, including the digital sphere. One of his main research interests relates to the influence of technology on language use by Welsh speakers, and how the Welsh language responds to continuous changes in the digital landscape. In addition, Dr Prys has significant experience of innovation through the development of Welsh-medium digital resources, with the aim of enriching the learning experience of university students, further education colleges and secondary schools throughout Wales.

10:15am: Keynote Speaker: Dr Cynog Prys, Bangor University: Welsh Education in the Digital Age

11am: Primary: e-sgol in the primary and the German language provision with Huw Davies, e-sgol and Louise Hutchinson, Ysgol Nant Y Groes.
 
11:45am: Secondary: Collaboration and Opportunities in the Secondary sector with Glenda Haf Jones and Stephen Williams, e-sgol and Elfed Morris, Gwynedd and Anglesey Post-16 Education Consortium Coordinator.
 
12:30pm: Carlam Cymru: A brief update on the Carlam Cymru project with Nia Mair Jones and meet two teachers to hear how they create and make use of the resources with their learners.
 
1:15pm: Lunch: Lunch, network and visit the stallholders.
 
2pm: Panel Discussion: “Link and Learn: Harnessing Collaboration and Technology to Transform Education” will be the topic of the discussion with our panel.
 
3pm: Close.
