Welcome to e-sgol

The e-sgol project aims to expand opportunities for post-14 learners to study courses that would not otherwise be available to them.

e-sgol Conference 2023

The e-sgol conference will provide you with an opportunity to hear about the different initiatives that e-sgol is working on, including Ymlaen Gyda’r Dysgu, Carlam Cymru and our Professional Learning Community.

Carlam Cymru

e-sgol were commissioned by Welsh Government to run a project to provide on-line sessions after school, to support pupils across Wales in order to enrich their knowledge, following the lockdown periods, when they were receiving their education on-line during the Covid-19 pandemic. The project was named Carlam Cymru

Our Courses

We are currently running courses in Ceredigion, Powys and across 6 Welsh schools in North Wales. These courses include Criminology, German, Psychology and many more.

Case Studies

We have case studies from learners and staff who have first hand experience of e-sgol courses.

The e-sgol project aims to expand opportunities for post-14 and post-16 learners to study courses that would not otherwise be available to them. Having been piloted in Ceredigion and Powys, we are now supporting schools across Wales, and using Microsoft Teams via Hwb to video teach collaboratively.

The following points highlight the project’s aims and objectives

Increase the number of subjects available through the medium of Welsh in schools across Wales at post-14 level.

Increase the number of learners studying low intake subjects in Schools across Wales at post-14 level.

Increase the number of learners studying higher-level subjects in schools across Wales through the medium of Welsh.

Provide an equity for post-14 learners across Wales regardless of location or language choice.
