About

The e-sgol project is based on the e-sgoil project in Scotland. Following visits by Welsh Government and Ceredigion officials in 2016 and 2017 it was decided to trial a similar project in Wales. Ceredigion Council were given the mantle of piloting the first year of the project. In this first year, the following projects were offered:

A Level Further Mathematics taught at Bro Pedr

A Level Drama taught at Bro Teifi

GCSE Music taught at Aberaeron

In the first year, the project launch happened at Bro Pedr with Kirsty Williams officially opening the project:

In 2019/20 Powys joined the project and the number of subjects grew with the following subjects being offered:

Alongside courses being offered in Ceredigion and Bro Myrddin in Carmarthenshire, e-sgol courses are offered by each secondary school in Powys.

Moving on to 2020/21, 6 Welsh Medium schools from North Wales joined the project. The courses available to pupils in this academic year can be viewed here.
